Round 13 saw the lads return home after a couple of weeks on the road. Only change to the squad was the call up of Cang 'Justin Beiber No. 1 fan' Pham (hey that rhymes) who replaced Arturo 'nachos fajitas' Jose. Mark 'fabio' Ventitti & Daniel 'Customs' Sein made up the other 2 places on the pine.

I'm going to do something different in this match report. I'm going to dedicate it to a very special person. A person who doesn't stand too tall in measurement stands very very tall in experience, class, fashion sense & talent. This person single handedly bagged up the 3 points on the weekend against the scum from Essendon way. Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you none other than Anthony 'Italian Serie C all time legend & now State 3 La Trobe all time legend' De Luca........(applause)........just a brief background summary for those who may not know such as young disrespectful punks like Nick 'Disco' Vissaris, Daniel 'Customs' Sein & Chris 'formerly wet behind the ears' Oghanna to name a few.....Anthony was a huge talent as a junior with many of Melbournes top clubs chasing him down for his signature at the age of 10. He thought it was best if he spread his talents & chose to play for 5 different teams in the same season at the same time! How is this possible you may ask? Impossible Is Nothing as his slogan says which he smartly sold to Adidas years later. As his career started to take off at the age of 10 he then shocked the nation & his parents even more so by announcing he was going to head over to Serie C in Italy to play his football. This may seem normal to the average Joe Blow however Anthony was only 11 when he announced this. Nothing was going to stop him & before the nation had time to absorb the news, he boarded Alitalia Flight No. Stugatz6969 & left our shores. Upon landing he knew he had made the correct decision as he was greeted & treated like a rockstar. What not many people know is that he idolized the one & only Diego Armando Maradona (not only because he was the same height I might add). He had mirrored his game on Diego's & as Diego was playing in Napoli at the time, Anthony took the punt to head over there also. As the years went by he dazzled the crowds (of MILF'S) who attended each game. 5 times named Italian Serie C player of the year, 5 times top goal scorer, 5 times best dressed, he had it all. Then suddenly on his sweeeeeeeet 16th birthday it all changed. He crossed paths with his idol Diego Armando Maradona. Anthony couldn't believe it however as a 16th birthday gift Diego offered Anthony a trip South America with him.....Medellin Columbia was the destination & it was from that point Ladies & Gentlemen, that Anthony's life changed. The years that followed were a blur, somewhat similar to Leonardo Di Caprio in the Basketball Diaries. His career alongside Diego's were spiraling in freefall until he said to himself 'WOW, what has become of me? I'm going home' It was that simple & before you knew it Anthony boarded Ansett Flight BOGAN2525 & Moorabin Airport was the destination. Since his Italian & Columbian experience Anthony has turned it all around & now heads one of the largest Development companies in Thomastown & turns out week after week for La Trobe. On the weekend past, Anthony casually slotted the 1st goal with his preferred right boot. 1 zip to the lads. Moments later, he casually sat on the edge of the box, had an espresso then calmly laid it off to Young Nick 'Disco' Vissaris who made it 2. Whatever Nick it's not about you so get over it. Theeeeeeeeeeen in La Trobe fashion some bloke who USE to play for the team got a couple back for Essendon, so what. The stage was then set for the man of the 93min. And when the clock struck 93min, there he appeared with a second effort at the ball to chip, lob, masterstroke the ball on his preferred left side over the keeper into the bottom left corner of the goal to win the game for La Trobe. OLE.........OLE.....OLE the crowd sang..............Anthony 'Italian Serie C all time legend & now State 3 La Trobe all time legend' De Luca, This is Your Life!

Best on Ground – Patty 'tubby' Devuonno who on his return to the lower playing fields, as nervous as hell & sh!tt!ng himself ended up bagging a brace WHICH STILL WASN'T ENOUGH. UNLUCKY!

The Eagle.
