Youngies Step Up
On the road again. With a full head of steam, The People’s Team entered the rural surroundings of Sunbury intent on one thing: Annihilation. That was exactly what happened, but it wasn’t going to come from the usual contributors. This time our cadets would stand up and be counted. Names that will hopefully one day grace LUSC’s senior team with their presence like Daniel ‘I’m Quiet But Still Dodgy’ Tasevski, Cang ‘De Kwan’ Pham, Tommy ‘The Assassin’ Randla, Michael ‘I’ll break Your Leg’ Lozankovski, Mickey ‘I’ll Throw Up All Over The Rental Bus’ P and Aaron ‘Hollywood’ DePetro, all played their part in the deconstruction of Sunbury United. Again, The People’s Team started off far more superior than their opponents and opened the scoring with constant penetration coming through the width they were providing as Danny ‘I’m Quiet but Still Dodgy’ Tasevski poached a goal from Petka’s aerial supremacy. Petka himself stepped up to remind Coach DePetro that the old guys still had some juice as he latched on to a goal reminiscent of the prior week’s ‘cherry on top’ rounding of the keeper. 2-0 at half time and that’s how it would stay.

The second half appeared to be a character building session as Sunbury were physically punished in the middle of the park by Laurie ‘I’ll Rip Your Throat Out’ Renda and Marco ‘Get the Job Done’ Finanzio. Lou ‘The Wiz’ Cifone complained of migraines after the win and it wasn’t until he spoke with LUSC’s statistician that he realised where the head pain had come from. The Wiz recorded 49 headers for the day. An LUSC record.
