La TrobeUni reserves beat Geelong Rangers 2-0 on the weekend, finally starting to score again, after three games without a goal.
La Trobe started off with the wind in their back in the first half, putting tonnes of pressure on Geelong already in the first seconds of the game.
Creating more chances in the first 15 minutes of the game than the last three games all together it looked like it was going to be a big win. However, once again showing a little lack of decisiveness in the 18 yard box, La Trobe only had 1-0 at half time, after a great, controlled header from Gabby, while Thomas seconds before had won the battle for the ball with keeper, leaving him with a black eye.
Coming out for the second half, La Trobe was prepared for a little bit more defending facing the strong wind. A much disorganised Geelong, which lacked imagination, never really posed a real threat to La Trobe. Thomas scored La Trobe’s second goal making the final score 2-0.
Vedran in the midfield had a good game, as well as Michael Paps when he came on in the second half.
